Hermit Crab Wisdom

A boy at the beach walked away from his pail,

And out of the bucket climbed a lonely lil snail,

After many hours of trying,

The hard work had left him crying,

So, he went to rest behind a little shell,

But, it moved to which he wondered "what the Hell?"

The shell, which was a crab,

Didn't often like to gab,

But, he saw the snail was sad and kinda scared,

So, he said "hello" and then his soul he bared,

"Seclusion equals Solace",

Said the Crab to the Mollusk,

"And you must learn to be happy all alone,

For if when you're by yourself,

You can manage perfect health,

You will find that you are finer on your own."

Alone In The Crowd

Ignored, scorned and out of touch,
Rarely heard or talked to much,
Assumed to be some kind of freak,
Angry, scarred, depressed and weak,
Pity isn't even there,
That would take someone to care,
A single glance is just enough,
To see my life is cold and tough,
Out of sight and out of mind,
Just turn and leave the freak behind,
Stumbling back into my hole,
These lonely nights - they take their toll.
